Description: The sun druid is, in many ways, a worshiper of the sun, mostly as the source of life and creation. They don't actually dwell on the sun, but rather use it as the source of their magic. Sun druids are most encountered on worlds close to the sun, where their magic is at the strongest.

Within any given sphere, there is a single order of sun druids. The only time that more than one order exists is when there is multiple sun gods or more than one sun (with a significant distance between suns, i.e. cluster suns count as one sun). Though a sun druid can draw power from any solar fire body, those that reach name levels can draw power only from one solar body.

Role: Sun druids are the wardens of light and heat. While there is little that could harm a sun, they protect them neither the less. Instead of spending their time protecting the sun, they instead protect worlds and asteroids from the more harmful effects of the sun.

Secondary Skills: Sun druids can choose their own secondary skill.

Weapon Proficiencies: Required: Scimitar (known by sun druids as the sun's weapon). Recommended: Staff, sickle

Nonweapon Proficiencies: Bonus: none Recommended: healing, navigation,Astronomy

Equipment: A sun druid must purchase a scimitar and a holy symbol.

Holy Symbol: The holy symbol of the sun druids is an amulet with a small sun stone, worth roughly 25 gp.

Special Benefits: A sun druid's magic is greater when close to the sun. When the druid is within 200 million miles of the sun, he gains a +1 bonus to his casting level, and his enemies suffer a -1 penalty to their saving throws. When a sun druid is in the 200 million mile to 1000 million-mile zone, he cast spells normally. Beyond 1000 million miles, he casts spells as a priest one level lower, and his foes receive a +1 bonus to their saving throws.

Special Hindrances: A sun druid cannot gain spells when farther than 1000 million miles from the sun, nor can they gain spells within the phlogiston. In a sphere without a sun, they are nearly powerless.

Wealth Options: Same as normal druids.

Standard garb: Sun druids normally wear golden robes during ceremonies. Otherwise, they will wear normal adventuring attire, but they prefer brightly colored clothing.
