The Royal Eagle is a Hammership that is part of Cormyr's recent forays into Realmspace. The current mission of the Royal Eagle is to patrol the Tears of Selune from pirates and neogi threats. Althain is still a young man, barely 25 winters old, but he has served in the Royal Navy since he turned 18. He has battled pirates on the Sea of Fallen Stars for most of his young career and stopping smugglers. His uncle is Ayesunder Truesilver, Warden of the Port of Marsember and Admiral of the King's Fleet. Althain relishes his task of exploring Realmspace, writing daily reports of what he finds. This information will be used to determine Cormyr's place among the stars. He is also charged with aiding the communities of Realmspace, and is busy hunting pirates near the Tears. The Captain has been receiving reports of scro among the asteroids and is disturbed by this activity. He has sent word to Admiral Icarus of the IEN, and the elf has promised to send a ship to assist him. She has of late been giving some of the crew a sound thrashing in darts, complete with friendly wagers. The crew all think of this young woman as a little sister, and will not hesitate to leap to her defense. The sorceress is constantly on the lookout for new magics, as well as reports on the various factions of Wildspace. Deanna is well provisioned with magical items and scrolls to ensure the success of the mission. She also has contacts among the mages of Templar, one of the moons of Garden.

He was content to live in Suzail and attend Brotherhood meetings, not journeying among the stars. He is here primarily because of Deanna, who would like the introverted mage to learn to live a little. She and Vangerdahast can see the potential in the young wizard. Deanna sometimes teases Ledor good-naturedly, which causes him to blush furiously, earning him roars of laughter from the other crew members. He is still unsure how he feels about the ribbings, but he is beginning to feel a little faint of heart when the sorceress is around, complete with a rapid heartbeat.
