Acealo, Spacefaring Ulitharid of the Liberated Creed.

Acealo is a 25th level psionicist/14th level mage

    Acealo seeks to restore the Illithid Empire.  He is aware of the
"Overmind" project, but calculates its chances of success at below ten
percent.  Acealo believes he can restore the empire based on one simple
factor--unlike the illithid cultural degenerates on groundling worlds, the
illithids in space still have magic at their tentacles.
    Acealo commands the "Liberated" Creed, devoted to the idea that to
restore the empire, illithids must not be tied to the elder brains but learn
to function independently.  He has forged his Creed from illithids whose
elder brains have been destroyed and independent spacefarers.  Many of the
traveling illithid "merchants" in space are becoming members of this Creed.
    Acealo currently is concentrating on two plots--the first is to build up
his creed among the illithids, acquiring nautiloids and dreadnaughts in the
process, and the second is the infiltrating of thralls into the various
organizations in space.  The point of the first plan is to bring the entirety
of the illithids of space under his command.  The goal of the second is two
fold--acquire information and have thralls in place to sabatoge enemy fleets.
 He currently counts no fewer than four elven Captains and three neogi
Masters among his circuitry imprinted thralls.
    Acealo is also a planar traveler, and has spent much time in the planes.
It is rumored that he has fiendish thralls!  His current forces are believed
to include twelve nautiloids and four dreadnaughts, all powered by standard
spelljamming helms and either thrall wizards or illithid wizards or priests.
He also is believed to command a number of "other" vessels, operating as
pirates with two to three illithids overseeing the thralls.
    Acealo does not stay and fight--unless he thinks he's going to win.  He
is fond of using his magic where opponents expect psionic attack, and often
prefers to use the magic, especially if he is dealing with a psychically aware
 individual.  If expecting mental combat, he will ward his mind with all the
power he possesses.  While Acealo fights if he expects to win, he is fully
conversant with what cattle armed with magic and steel can do.  He has no
compunction against hurling death spells and fireballs to win.
