I was reading up on a Great Old Master Neogi and a very interesting situation came to mind. What if one of these was placed aboard the ship of a spelljamming crew. The ship would probably have to be 50 tons or more to have this happen.
Cargo needed for transport to a lesser known sphere. A fee of 500 gp up front and another 4500 gp upon delivery.
The captain and crew take aboard some cargo for transport to an asteroid belt in another crystal sphere. They are further told that the cargo is to remain unbothered for the duration of the journey or the delivery fee will be forfeited. The total journey time should take 2 to 3 months to reach the destination.
Consist of (1) Great Old Master Neogi (2) (if you think it's needed) and quite a few crates of seasoned meat enough to feed the Great Old Master Neogi for a while. The cargo hold would need to be fairly large that's why the need for a ship of 50 tons or more.
There is now a Great Old Master Neogi on board a ship making things quite interesting indeed.
Great Old Master Neogi will reach term before arriving at the destination releasing 20-40 very hunger neogi upon the ship.
If discovered before reaching term remember that piercing attacks release 2d4 Neogi per attack.
As if you don't already know, waiting at the destination is a ship full of Neogi's ready to collect their new slaves.
