Name: Triterra
Type: Spherical Air body
Size: F (15k miles in diameter)
Escape time: 1 hour
Satellites: 3 moons
Day length: 24 hours
Year length: 306 days
Population analysis: Predominantly humanoid

The layered world of Triterra is a unique planet in the system and more than likely in any system. The planets structure consists of three stratospheric layers each housing a number of floating continents. The center of the planet is an icy ball called simply "The core". The climate of each continental system varies by altitude. The upper continents climate ranges from subtropical to tropical. The mid continents range from sub-tropical to sub-arctic and the lower continent ranges from temperate to arctic. The core itself is but an icy ball of stone, warmed only by its relatively common volcanic activity.

Triterra has remained fairly separated from the spelljamming community, mainly due to Akadia's fear of a rival trader in space and their willingness to "eliminate" said rivals. None the less, some nations, like that of Tuvalu on the upper continent of Estratta, have discovered the secrets of making helms and Ethersails. It is only a matter of time when Triterra's narrow field of view widens up towards the stars despite the Akadian Spacers guild's efforts to keep Triterra grounded. Like Jardan and Malstrom Triterra does have several societies in possession of ships capable of sailing the skies inside the planetary atmosphere. The most common ships are constructed of Gravwood, though a great variety of other ships use permanent fly spells or similar magic. The most notable of Triterra's planetary ships are the Battle behemoths of the Taragen Empire on Estratta. This culture is locally known for its centuries of magical and mundane breeding projects. Everything from symbiotic life forms to living ships has been researched here. The living ships have become the Taragen empires crown achievement and ever increasing number are appearing not only within the planets atmosphere, but in orbit around the planet as well. Currently the aggressive fleets of the Taragen Empire and the Akadian Spacer's guild are leading a secret war; secret that is to the people of Triterra. The high prices Tuvalu charges the Taragen Empire have kept it from bringing the battle farther out into open space, but the empires God-emperor, Viseries Taragen, has been cleverly hoarding helms and Manasails for just the right time.

Ports of call

Currently the only port available to outworlders is the Grand bay of Tuvalu in Tuvalu city (port type A). Most of the Tuvali port cities have relatively adequate facilities (port type C or D), yet only the Grand bay is equipped to handle dozens of ships at once. Docking rights can be bought for 1 copper per ten ton per day or 2 copper per ton per week. Though Tuvaludoes not impose an import or export tax they do require those who do business in their city to join the House of guilds. Membership fees rate at 50 gp per ton of the member's ship, and 20 gp per ton for each ship beyond the first and are collected annually. In addition rights must be purchased to sell merchandise, transport passengers, or transport cargo. Cargo rights are fairly cheap at 5 gp per ton of cargo capacity for the first ship and 3 gp per ton for every additional ship. Passenger rights cost 10 gp per passenger capacity, 5 per capacity for all other ships. The rights to sell merchandise in Tuvalurun from 100 gp to 1.000 gp depending upon the average expected value of the ships cargo and is not influenced by the number of ships the merchant possesses. Most traders consider the price a small disadvantage considering the fact that anything and everything one could imagine can be bought and sold in Tuvalu. The word contraband does not exist in Tuvalu, to the great advantage of the "seedier" sort of merchant.

Resources/Trade

Beyond the exceptions noted above, Triterra is a fairly standard trading partner with a wide range of import and export needs. It is definitely possible to find widely varying prices on each of the continents, based of course on availability and demand. A wise trader would do well to get a feel for the economics of each continent before settling for a particular trade run.

Satellites

Marduk

Name: Marduk
Type: Spherical water body
Size: D (3k miles in diameter)
Escape time: 30 minutes
Satellites: None
Day length: 20 days
Year length: 20 days
Population analysis: Predominantly lesser marine life

Marduk is the closest of the moons and is a deep blue-green incolor. The moon consists mainly of water and is home to a number of lesser, marine life forms. Great leviathan whales wander the waterways of Marduk and are considered the caretakers of its waters. Some claim to have either seen these whale-like creatures spring from the water and into planetary orbit or swim through space as if it were water. Though generally discounted a number of Akadian sages have dedicated themselves into researching this phenomenon more closely. Marduk serves as an excellent place to replenish air and water supplies and the rich marine life can provide more than adequate food for those skilled in fishing. Those wishing to do so would be well advised to be wary for the dark waters of Marduk do not only hold fish and whales, but gigantic Krakens and Dire sharks as well.

Polinitus

Name: Polinitus
Type: Spherical earth body
Size: D (2k miles in diameter)
Escape time: 30 minutes
Satellites: None
Day length: 30 days
Year length: 30 days
Population analysis: No known native life forms

Polintus is the second closest moon and consists mainly of bare stone and ice. No known life exists on Polintus, but space travellers often use it to refresh air supplies and take on water in the form of snow and ice.

In light of the new war with the Taragen Empire, Akadia has begun construction of a military base and shipyard on Polinitus. When the shipyard is complete and functional the Akadian Spacers guild will be able to avoid sending their warships back to Akadia for repairs, a setback which has allowed the Taragen empire a distinct advantage.

Ehlara

Name: Ehlara
Type: Spherical earth body
Size: D (1k miles in diameter)
Escape time: 30 minutes
Satellites: None
Day length: 40 days
Year length: 40 days
Population analysis: Primarily Daemons

Ehlara is the farthest of the moons. Its surface is encrusted in mineral crystal deposits (mainly quartz and calcium) and swept with sandstorms. The high iron and copper content of the sand gives a mixed reddish brown and green color to both the sand and the planet from afar.

As unlikely as it seems a subspecies of terrestrial Daemons has been discovered on Ehlara. These creatures are highly interested in all outworld contact, mainly as food and entertainment. Recently they have discovered how to use captured Akadian spelljamming ships, which are used to raid nearby fleets and settlements. Survivors of such raids are taken back to Ehlara where they are never seen again. For this reason the Akadian spacer's guild has declared this moon as a "red zone" to be avoided at all costs.

It is speculated that these relatively cultured Daemons may have a subterranean society which is a frightening thought at best. Were these creatures ever to discover the secrets of creating helms or Manasails a dark age of war and destruction would sweep down upon the entire system.
