The Nari Escortship is the back bone of Nari law in space. They serve as long range patrol vessels, transportation for inportant people, and can hold their own in a battle. The Escort looks almost like a claw with the base of the claw being the front of the ship. The middle "talon" tilts down about 20 degrees. The "talons to the sides tilt up about 15 degrees. Where the palm would be is where the bulk of the ship would be, the " talons are not hollow and cannot be used to store any thing. the rigging is located on the top side of the side "talons". The only structure above the lower decks is A building that is uniform with the middle "Talon" so that the rear portion slopes down to match the "talons" down tilt.
Crew
To man the rigging properly 10 crew member need to attend them. The catapult requires only three to operate them, but a fourth is needed to man the turret. The crew follow a strict millitary structure. The structure is rather simple but strict. There is the captain, who handles relaying the instructions of the nari and handles disipline. The navigator who handles the star chart and course corrections. There are weopons officers, one for each large weopon, that are in charge of the proper maintenance and operation of each large weopon. The rigging officer is in charge of the rigging and reports to the navigator. the helmsman is in charge of the whole ship and he speaks for the nari in all things.Only agents of the Hidden may override a Helmsmans orders. Where the fleet officers are concerned,Agents are the last step in the chain of command. Agents are utterly loyal to the Hidden.
Ship Uses
Patrols: Long range patrol is the primary role of the Escort in these times of peace. they visit other sphere forthe purposes of gathering information that might concern the Nari. Inside Adramispace their main purpose is to scout possible rebel outposts. Many mages have commited crimes on Adramis and have fled into deep space only to try and raise an insurrection toword the Nari. An Adramispace patrol will usually carry two Lances (fighters) Attached to the rear of the ship.
Transport: Whenever it is neccesary to transport an important Diplomats A special Escort is used. the Escort has been modified so that it Has three luxurios quarters, Only the ballista are not rmoved. These ships are usually flancked by two patrol ships.
Other Configurations
No other configurations are known at this time but rumors persist that a new battle cruiser is in the works. the reason for this developement is a mystery as there are no major enemies of the state and the rebels pose little threat as of yet.
